The trustees lead KiNETIC.
They agree to do their best
to follow KiNETIC’s Constitution,
to deliver the We Are KiNETIC Vision and Plan,
and to make sure that our Membership and Network
keep on growing and thriving.

I’m Mark Owen, acting chair of KiNETIC and CEO of Outlookers. I’ve been visually impaired since birth and am passionate about creating a network where we work together to make Kirklees a more inclusive place. I have also worked in education, marketing and finance, gaining skills that I hope will benefit KiNETIC.
I am Marina Poppa (they/them), a Queer, Disabled, Neurodivergent Artist. I design, make and perform Carnival Masquerades and Parade Puppets and also write & perform Poems. This year, I am dabbling with Drag, writing my first play, sharing my lived experience and creating safer spaces for people from marginalised backgrounds to shine.

My name is David Quarmby. I’m married with 3 sons and 5 grandchildren and have lived in Huddersfield all my life. I am blind and have a smart looking guide dog called Reg. I have been active regarding equality and disability rights since 1985
I’m Fiona Weir (she/her). I’m a disabled person, grandma, artist and campaigner. I have lived and worked in Kirklees for 35 years. I have been a leader and manager in Kirklees Council Adult Services, NHS England and the Third Sector, and now I’m an independent social researcher and advisor.

More about being a KiNETIC trustee
KiNETIC members elected the trustees
at the Annual General Meeting on 8th April 2025.
The law says that Trustees must make sure
that KiNETIC follows
its purpose and aims and its Constitution.
KiNETIC’s Constitution is still being developed.
It will be finished and formally approved in 2025.
In 2025-26, the Trustees particularly want to:
– Make our new “Into Action” project a success – kindly funded by the National Lottery Awards for All.
– Develop the KiNETIC membership and leadership so it becomes more diverse and better represents disabled people in Kirklees – especially those from Global Majority communities and younger disabled people.
